What a beautiful weekend! I am still trying to wrap my head around the fact that my goddaughter is 25 years old and married. It seems like only yesterday when we were all waiting for these beautiful twin girls to make their grand entrance into the world. Once they finally arrived, I was so beyond proud to be asked to be Karen’s godmother. Now look at her…all grown up and a gorgeous bride.
On Saturday September 22, we made our way towards Delhi and the picturesque Cranberry Creek Gardens for the ceremony. Once we parked the car, we walked up to a quaint rustic little church that would provide the backdrop for the wedding.
The wedding was small gathering, with just family and their closest friends which added to the intimacy. Jeremy, the groom, and his groomsmen looked handsome is their grey suits. And the bridesmaids all looked amazing in their burgundy gowns.
The moment everyone was waiting for…a proud father walking his daughter down the aisle and into her future. Equally as proud was Jeremy waiting for his bride at the alter with nothing but a smile on his face and love in his eyes.
The ceremony was beautiful with personal vows written by the bride and groom, little tidbits of marriage advice, and a vow from family and friends to support the bride and groom in their marriage journey.
It’s official…Mr. & Mrs. McKenzie!
Once the ceremony was over, many of us stayed as the photos were being taken. Their photographers were great and allowed the family and friends to take photos right along side them. I wasn’t sure if they would get offended with me having my big camera out but they didn’t even question it. This venue was such a pretty place for photos…I love the rustic vibe of the old church and the gardens. I can only imagine how gorgeous they must have been during the summer months as well.

The Bridal Party
After the ceremony and the photos, we made our way to Springview Farms Golf Course in Waterford for dinner and the reception. What a beautiful little spot and it totally fit in to the whole rustic theme. When we walked into the hall, we were met with huge distressed wood beams, concrete floors and tiny white twinkle lights everywhere. The dinner was catered by the amazing Lancaster Smokehouse in Kitchener and it was beyond delicious…the mac ‘n cheese alone did it for me…so good!
Everything about this wedding was beautiful and I thank Karen & Jeremy for allowing us the pleasure of celebrating this very special day with them. There was a bittersweet feeling to the day though…the absence of Karen’s Nanny who was too ill to attend. She was so looking forward to being there. She would have been so proud and she would have loved it.
I wish Karen & Jeremy a lifetime of love and happiness in the years ahead. I am excited to see where life takes you. Much love to you both!
