As you can see, this blog has now been renamed “Jupiter’s Crossing” and I love it. I was asked how I came up with this new name and it’s quite an interesting story. When I was a little girl, I had a great aunt and uncle who we would visit each summer with my grandparents. They never had any children of their own. We would spend 2 weeks in July every year at their cottage near Algonquin Park and they would quite often make the drive back to the cottage for a visit. They lived in a small little town not too far from the cottage. From as far back as I can remember, my uncle always called me “Jupiter”. I remember saying to him, “my name is Jennifer” and he would always reply, “ok Jupiter”…and that’s the way it always was. Both my aunt and my uncle have been gone for some time, but this will always be one of my favourite memories of him.
I also wanted to incorporate a word or phrase that conveyed moving forward because, in life, we are always changing and evolving. This was the hard part. It was easy to come up with different words I liked, but so many of them were already taken…apparently blogging is a serious business. I came across 2 or 3 words that I lived with for a few days and “Crossing” came out on top.
So, “Jupiter’s Crossing” it is and it is growing on me more and more each day. And since I am changing up the look and feel of this blog, I also decided to give myself a new email as well. Feel free to drop me a line to let me know what you all think…firstname.lastname@example.org.
